Overview
The maintenance manager regularly assesses the asset and its state.
The manager makes a decision on whether the asset can operate or not.
If an asset is no longer usable, further steps to complete decommissioning must be identified. Assets are considered unusable in the following cases:
- An asset requires capital investments for overhaul or modernization.
- An asset could be sold.
- An asset might be scrapped.
- An asset must be disposed.
- An asset can be used for another business function.
