Overview

Once the goods receipt at the warehouse is initiated, the relevant storing capacities must be evaluated, operations and human resources are planned.

First you need to understand the actual storing capacity of warehouse facilities such as main storage area, inbound area and material handling equipments.

After that, you are checking the scope of shipping requirements for receiving goods, such as: item names, quantities, physical characteristics, to compare it with capacities in order to evaluate whether there is enough space to receive and place the goods. As a rule, the necessary warehouse transport and human resources for unloading the goods at the time of delivery are reserved in advance. Any problems with a lack of capacity are escalated.

As a result of the process, the warehouse is ready to receive goods.
