Overview

Depending on the corporate policies and regulations, the company might need to monitor the stock shelf life regularly. The monitoring policy is usually applied to a specific stock type. The batch accounting policy is set for the item and warehouse combination.

Within this process, the company regularly analyzes the stock by the shelf life and identifies respective batches.

Expired batches should be detected, preferably early. Quality control procedures should be initiated for such batches.

As a result of the process, the stock shelf life is monitored, and batches with expiration dates are identified.
