Overview

Goods picking begins after it is initiated by various material shipment scenarios, such as: shipment to a customer, transfer to another warehouse or production area, and intercompany sales.

Firstly, the picking jobs are generated with reference to the goods issue document.

Typically, at the beginning of the workday, all picking jobs are reviewed, a picking lists are printed and distributed to warehouse workers. A picking list is enriched with additional information, such as the ID of the storage bin, item name, quantity of goods.

The goods picking strategy is determined by the enterprise itself. As a rule, an employee performs picking jobs one at a time. He follows a given route of the warehouse storing the item needed, selects the required quantity of goods, scans the bin, then moves on to the next item until he completes the entire job.

Once the all items are picked, goods are moved to the packing or shipping area.

For the goods transferred to packing area, the packaging process is initiated.

As a result, the picking of goods is completed, the packing process is initiated.
