Overview
The purpose of this process is to align the production capacity with the capacity requirements at the shop floor level.
The capacity requirements are calculated based on the adjusted production plan and provided to the shop floor.
To change the production capacity, you can take the following measures:
- Change the work schedule.
- Restructure and change work center types and their functions.
- Engage new work centers and external subcontractors.
As a result of the process, the production capacity will be aligned with the requirements.

How to review production capacity requirements
1. Go to Budgeting and planning and then click Production plans under Sales and operations plans.
2. Select a document and click → Planned demand for work center types.
In the Planned demand for work center types report:
1. Select a report option that shows the required capacity only.
2. Click Settings, specify a period, select a Scenario, and Generate the report.
3. Find the total capacity requirements in the Required columns and review the breakdown of figures by the period.
4. Copy the link to the report option and save the report as a spreadsheet file.
How to maintain production capacity for the planning period
1. Review the decisions on capacity changes.
2. Fill the availability of work centers/work center types for the planning horizon.
