Overview
The process manages the recording of the first contact with the customer or potential customer and gathering all the necessary information related to the request.
The information captured must be enough for creating a quotation for the customer. It is important to follow internal instructions, checklists, and questionnaires to get comprehensive information.
The details of the customer request are important for initiating pre-sales processes and further processing of a quotation.
All information must be carefully recorded and structured in the system. Additional files and specifications must be attached to the customer request as external files.

How to record request data
1. Go to Sales and then click Customers under Sales master data.
2. Find and open the Customer card and click Interactions at the top. If the link is hidden, click More actions.
3. Find and open the Interaction.
4. Click Generate → Sales opportunity to create a new Sales opportunity based on the Interaction (phone call, e-mail, and other).
5. The system will automatically transfer the information from the Interaction to a new Sales opportunity.
6. Click the General information tab.
7. Enter a title in the Description field.
8. Choose Sales opportunity kind. The Sales opportunity kind includes a certain template of business processes, including the quotation management process.
9. Click the Primary demand tab.
10. Choose the Primary demand currency.
11. Add a new line.
12. Specify the Customer demand description about what products the client wants to buy.
13. Specify the Amount expected by the client.
14. Click Save and close.

How to call for extra data
1. Go to CRM and marketing and then click Sales opportunities under CRM.
2. Open the Sales opportunity document and click Interactions at the top. All Interactions created would be available from here.
3. Create a new Interactions (phone call, e-mail, and other).
4. Contact the client, request information, and put the captured information into the Interaction.
How to analyze inquiries and enter assessment results in system
1. Go to CRM and marketing and then click Sales opportunities under CRM.
2. Open the Sales opportunity document.
3. Evaluate the request and enter the information about the maximum (reasonable) price that can be expected as competitive and critical for success and assess the probability of success.
4. Enter the information in the Comment field and attach external files by clicking Attachments.

How to define and notify responsible managers
1. Go to Quick menu and then click My tasks under Mail, tasks.
2. Select the Tasks, click Forward, and select the sales manager (the system User).
3. The system will change the assignment and notify the user responsible for the step.
